Côt from the old master who handed over his domain to Bert Mol of Domaine Le Taupe in 2018. Ink black in color, but vibrant and transparent. Wild blackberries and blueberries shoot out of the glass, and there is a hint of flint and lime; a well-made wine without sulphite smells freer and purer. You taste dark fruit, the forest, and hints of anise and cocoa. It has a nice smooth texture and a full flavor in the middle, but still remains fresh and light. Fine minerality, dry tannins and an elegant acidity, like that of a blueberry, which gives it an edge and ensures perfect balance. Côt can be heavy, but this one is a lean yet powerful athlete, bubbling with energy. Eat wine, perfect for stews and winter dishes. Also starting to get perfectly aged. Yum, yum yum!
