Yann Durieux worked for years at the top biodynamic producer Prieur‚ Roch before buying his own vineyards. He soon left the d.o.c. because he makes his wines intuitive and didn't feel like the straightjacket of rules that comes with the conventional wine world. Yann ferments his pinot noir in whole bunches in concrete cuves for 30 days. The wine then ages for 24 months in old oak barrels, giving it plenty of room to develop subtly and gain structure without gaining the pronounced taste of new oak. Pinot for gourmets, aromatic and complex. Only 12% alcohol (in 2013 even no more than 10%), from an extraordinarily idiosyncratic, very talented winemaker.
